    Overseas Shipping Tips

Are you thinking of shipping some valuable goods abroad? If you are one of those first time shippers, it can be a tricky task. You would probably need all the help you can get, right? Since overseas shipping would usually cost you a significant amount of money, it would be best to leave no room for mistakes. Otherwise, you will just be frustrated to find out that the package you sent have damages or worse rendered completely useless. So here are some really useful tips and tricks that could make for very first overseas shipping a fuss free and fun experience for you:

    Pick the Right Box

In selecting a box for your parcel be sure to choose a sturdy one that can easily store the contents. Make sure that is has the right size and has enough room for you to put some ample cushioning. There are different kinds of shipping supplies available in your local shipping agents, ask some assistance on which storage type would be the most suitable for you. If you want to recycle some used boxes, it is important that you remove any old labels of previous shipments. You can only use the box if it is in particularly good shape with no frail spots, otherwise you will be risking the condition of your package.

    Use Cushions

If you think you can save some money on skimping on protective cushioning material, better think again. If you have some fragile contents or merchandise that is prone to cracks and scratches, use some crumpled newspapers, or any other protective material that are available in the market. Some of these are Styrofoam and bubble wraps that would cushion the contents against shock and jerky movements during shipments.

    Seal Tightly

It is equally important to securely seal your overseas shipping package with a tape that is specifically designed for shipping purposes. You can purchase these special adhesives at some post offices in your locality. Some of these tapes are pressure sensitive, nylon or glass reinforced tapes or a combination of both. Do not try to use the ordinary tapes since it will not be able to securely hold the opening of the box.

    Address Properly

In order to avoid some confusion, write the delivery and return address in one part of your package. Make sure to write legibly and include the zip code and the complete address of the destination of your parcel. This will help the overseas shipping agents easily locate and deliver package on time.
